Okay.
What the hell is Perfection's Impasse?
It's story about four average people who try to prove something to the world and lose themselves chasing the illusion of flawlessness.

Made-up FAQ
Q: "Who is answering these questions?"
A: That would be me, thanks. My name is Dana, also known as Danaduck or D.C. I'm the one behind Perfection's Impasse and all the fascinating characters within.
Q: "But who are you, really?"
A: I'm an average girl with complex thoughts.
Q: "Did you create this website on your own?"
A: Not really. I admit I have no idea how to code, and I know nothing about how websites work, so I used an app from Odoo to make this thing exist. The rest is my own work, though. I wrote all the text and added all the funny images. Didn't make the website, made the story.
Q: "Are the P.I. characters based on real people?"
A: No. They're manifestations of the things I hate and secretly strive to be, but that does not count. No. If you see anyone or yourself in the characters, it's totally just pure coincidence.
Q: "Are the P.I. characters friends?"
A: That depends on your definition of the word.
Q: "When did the project start?"
A: It started somewhere between 2020 and 2025, that's for sure. There isn't really one specific moment where I said, "I'm starting this thing." I just kept collecting small ideas and concepts until it became a thing on its own.
Q: "When will the project be finished?"
A: Never. Even if I publish the novel as a real book that you can hold in your hand at some point, the story itself will never truly be over. As long as I'm alive, the universe of Perfection's Impasse will grow endlessly across media.
Q: "How many people are working on this?"
A: As for now, I carry everything by myself, including this website as well as all the social media. But not to forget, some of my dear friends helped me polish the story plan, which I am very grateful for. Even as someone who creates tutorials for writing, I need a second pair of eyes from time to time, you know?
Q: "Why did you choose a high school setting for P.I.?"
A: Because most of us went through high school. It's a common and realistic experience, so I thought it would be a great setting for this project. Plus, all the deadlines and strict rules can add to the already present stress, right? Like, a bunch of stressful things stacking.
Q: "What is the genre?"
A: I'd call it a psychological drama with thriller elements, or maybe even a character study.
If you're looking for action, you likely won't find any of that in Perfection's Impasse because we are all about slow-burn tension here. Sorry (not sorry).
Q: "Why is the website's favicon a box cutter?"
A: Take a guess.
Q: "Are there any easter eggs on this website?"
A: Probably not.
Q: "When was the website created?"
A: It was created on August 29, 2025. That's just a day after my birthday! However, the website kind of just existed for a very long time before I actually started doing something with it. Most of the stuff you're reading now was written in the summer of 2026. Before that, this place was basically empty.
Q: "Are you planning to monetize this project?"
A: It's just my personal passion project right now. Can we stop making everything about money? What if I do something for fun?
Q: "Where can I find you on the Internet?"
A: I often use Discord. I own a few small servers that are less like servers and more like a continuous therapy session disguised as teatime with a soft blanket. I also use Instagram, Spotify, Pinterest, and occasionally even things like Reddit or Tumblr. My username is usually some form of "danaduck."
(But small note: some other people might use a similar username, so I would recommend double-checking, because not every duck is Dana and not every Dana is a duck.)
Q: "Why are the posts on Substack?"
A: Because I want them to be there. :)

Now that you know stuff...
See how much people love this project.
It's so real it will drive you insane.
"I know your characters aren't up on your profile rn, but I read THE WHOLE doc that you linked, and DAMN, WHEN IS YOUR NOVEL DONE I WANT TO READ IT!!!!!"

"HELLO!!!! The moment I laid my eyes upon your characters, I almost DIED. Your style and writing are both PHENOMENAL, and I am in love with this story in particular!!! (especially Ezra's character, omigosh.)"
![]()
"The designs are what initially hooked me, but their story and how intricate their characters are made me stay. Just reading their basic info felt like I was entering a different world! I will put them in a box and shake them around. I love them."

"HAHAHAH I randomly picked a profile on AF Discord to click on, and then I was blown away by your profile, art, character, and all. You've got a sense of style that is genuinely charming; it grabbed my attention immediately."

"I looked through a couple of your characters' bios and Google Drive links while I was deciding who to draw, and everyone was so. Like. Relatable. All of them are so rounded and well written; honestly, it felt like I could meet someone like that irl. Sorry, I'm not really good at explaining this, but I was in awe. You're so good at writing; it’s actually insane. I might read more later if i have the time."

"Your character doc thing is awesome!!!! Your OCs are really cool... 😳👌"

"Please continue with your work. I would love to read that novel one day. Your characters are exactly what today's 'every book feels the same' market needs. 🫶"

"When I first checked out the website via the author's profile, I spent a good half an hour skimming through the web pages and reading the character docs. I don't think I've ever found characters that I could relate to on such a deep level (unless my memory's failing me); they're so relatable to the point of me saying, "Oh jeez, they're actually me. I do that too." Every other line. I think I should go get a mental check-up because I'm actually just Simona, seriously. There's a special charm that's only found in characters with such complex and nuanced personalities that you could genuinely see yourself meeting someone like them in real life. As someone who enjoys analyzing characters—dissecting how they act and what causes them to act like they do in the story—the premise of P.I. sounds like a really fun read. The cast seems incredibly realistic, which isn't something you see in a good portion of media. All of the characters have enticingly messy traits that make them all the more "likeable" (in terms of "it's fun to put them all in a petri dish, incubate said dish for 3 days, and then come back to view them all under a microscope").I think I've said enough without accidentally glazing the hell out of this project. Uhhh, 9/10 would recommend. Did I also mention that Simona's pretty cool? Yeah."
