Tara

As the protagonist and narrator of Perfection's Impasse, Tara is a paranoid pattern seeker who resents chaos but often ends up creating it anyway. 

Her goal is to find something real in the world and have undeniable proof of it, though she isn't even sure what "real" means. 

When there seems to be no meaning, she'll put together her own one with perfectly aligned rocks and empty sticky notes. Suddenly, her bedroom walls are a string of theories no one else understands.

Appearance

Tara is a person with a rather androgynous presence. She tends to cross her arms and often walks with a slightly hunched posture, unintentionally making her appear as avoidant or dismissive.

Her hair is short, brown, and messy no matter how much she tries to brush it down. Also, just like other people sometimes have leaves in their hair, you might find a few sticky notes stuck to Tara's.

Tara has a pointy nose and green-ish eyes. Depending on the level of her exhaustion, there may be visible eye bags as well.

She usually wears simple clothes, such as a plain t-shirt matched with plain shorts. Some other outfits she may pick include a hoodie, a sweater, and a coat.

Tara does not care about accessories (and her looks in general) much, but she keeps one specific necklace close to her at all times. It's a golden circle with an eye symbol embossed on the front, hanging on a cheap-looking string. Someone gave it to her some time ago, but that's just about all we know, because she refuses to elaborate. She also occasionally puts on long golden earrings.

Another object she carries everywhere she goes is her camera. It has an attachable strap that Tara uses to make the frequent carrying easier. She insists she only takes photos for fun.

Personality

Tara is someone who constantly overthinks, and something as simple as a casual conversation between two strangers can turn into a whole conspiracy theory in her head. She is the type to count the tiles on the floor and force meaning onto it.

She loves to investigate small details that don't matter to anyone but still seem huge to her, and the fact that nobody cares makes Tara feel like she might be the only one who can see the truth.

Tara is also considerably impatient and impulsive. She doesn't wait for anything and acts before she thinks. This can be a useful trait in actual danger, but when it comes to any situation when a person should pause for a moment, Tara fails terribly.
